IVF stats

In 2006, the OU Physicians Reproductive Health and ART laboratory was established under the direction of Michael T. Zavy, Ph.D. and Karl Hansen, M.D., Ph.D.  Our IVF program has experienced considerable growth since this time, rapidly establishing some of the best success rates per procedure in the region.

“For patients of all ages undergoing an IVF procedure at OU Physicians Reproductive Health in 2006, the live birth rate per procedure was 60%.  For patients under age 35 the live-birth rate was 65%”

* Pregnancy percentages are based on number of cycles with an embryo transfer.  A Comparison of clinic success rates may not be meaningful because patient medical characteristics and treatment approaches may vary from clinic to clinic.

One of our missions is to decrease the number of pregnancies with multiple gestations while maintaining a good pregnancy rate for our patients.  In an effort to do this, we minimize the number of embryos that are transferred into the uterus, using guidelines set by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
